The new lodge is a four-season day use area, which in addition to winter operation, will offer conference & meeting facilities, host weddings, concerts, an interpretive center, hiking, biking, and more during the spring, summer, and fall months. Not to mention vastly improved and expanded facilities to support skiers & riders in the winter!
Mt. Spokane 2000 in partnership with Washington State Parks & Recreation Commission hope to have the new facility completed by 2013, the official Centennial of Washington State Parks.
Given the current economic climate, stimulus dollars are available for projects just like this - projects that have an immediate need, can get started right away, and show a good financial or economic return on the surrounding community. Economic studies are showing there is a strong return on the state's financial investment in the new lodge in the short & long term, along with increased tourism dollars and new jobs created for the area.
We are seeking funding for initial infrastructure development this summer. However, the construction of the new lodge at Mt. Spokane is not definite by any means.
