Why should I come to the Job Fair?
The job fair gives you the opportunity to meet the managers, obtain immediate answers to your questions, get assistance in choosing what positions best match your qualifications, and what positions you may want to apply for. Onsite interviews are held during this job fair. 99% of all positions are filled the day of the job fair.
What should I bring to the Job Fair?
We recommend that you bring your completed job application with you to the job fair so you are ready to interview. Make sure that you have completed your dates of employment, school information, skills and qualifications, references, and contact information. Along with this information, bring your current resume. If you are unable to have your completed application ready and with you, there will be blank forms to complete at the job fair. Make sure that you have the necessary information with you to complete your application.
How can I apply to work for Mt. Spokane?
1. Fill out our application online.
2. Print out an application form and mail it.
3. Print out an application form and fax it.
4. Print out an application and bring it into the Human Resources Office.
5. Come in to the Human Resources Office and fill out an application.
6. Print out an application and bring it with you to our job fair November 7, 2009.
I submitted an application, will I hear from someone?
If you submit your application online, you will get a confirmation letting you know that your application was successfully uploaded. If you have not applied online, then you will be sent an email confirming receipt of your application.
How will my application be handled?
Your application will be reviewed for your first choice position you applied for and distributed to the appropriate manager if your qualifications and skills meet the requirements and there is an open position. If both of these requirements are not met, then your application will be given to the manager of the area of your second choice if your skills and qualifications meet the requirements and there is an open position, and then your third choice.
How long will you keep my application?
Your application will be held on file until the end of the current season for which you applied. After that it will be shredded for your personal security.
Do you hire for only weekends and holidays?
Mt Spokane is in the recreation business and also caters to local families, so there is opportunity to find positions that have a need for extra help on holidays and weekends.
Do you provide employee uniforms?
Each department has its own needs and requirements to perform the duties necessary for each position. The clothing issued will depend on the job that you have. If you work outside you will in most instances be issued a jacket. Depending on the work area, Inside jobs may be issued a vest, apron, or shirt. In all jobs, you will need to
Do I have to know how to ski or snowboard to work for Mt. Spokane?
While we do have positions that make it necessary to be a proficient skier or snowboarder, there are many jobs that are non skiing positions.
Do you have employee housing?
We are a day resort and employee housing is not available.
What type of transportation is available, and what about parking?
You will need to have reliable transportation to work, as there is no transit service up to the mountain. Our commitment is to provide exceptional guest service, so the parking lots closest to the lodges are made available to our guests. Free parking in designated areas is provided with a free shuttle from the parking lots to the lodges. Once you are hired you will find that your fellow employees will be looking carpool and rideshare.
If I am hired, what forms of ID are required to complete my paperwork?
New hires and returning employees must complete the W-4 form and federal I-9 form. The I9 requires very specific types of identification.
Do you have any employee perks?
Besides working in a gorgeous location in a fun industry? Yes we do! Depending on your position employees are eligible for season passes, retail discounts, and food & beverage discounts. We are a member of the Pacific Northwest Ski Areas Association so our employees are able to take part in the ski area employee exchange program.
