As you probably know, Mt. Spokane State Park road is under construction at the State Park entrance. The road is closed to the public Mondays through Thursdays until mid-October.
The Park is still open for non-motorized public access. Free parking is available in a designated area for park visitors at Bear Creek Lodge.
Mt. Spokane State Park is still open on Fridays and weekends, all the way up to the summit. The bike trails are hot and the huckleberries are ripe, so avoid that scorching heat this weekend and come on up to the mountain. If you haven’t been before, you MUST see the Vista House in summer. And with a road all the way to the top, you have no excuse!

I do believe that bikers and foot traffic will be allowed around the construction during the week. You may park in the designated area at Bear Creek Lodge.

A group of us are considering riding our road bikes to the summit on Saturday 8/22. Is construction completed yet? Is the road ‘paved’ for road bikers, or at this point is it best for mountain biking only?
Please advise soonest. Thank you.

There is still a section of the road at the State Park entrance that is under construction, and remains unpaved. It is about 300 yards, you can carry your bike across it and continue to the summit, if you wish. Have fun!

If available, when will the Mt Spokane road be finished? I would like to road bike up on either hard pack or asphalt and I would do so on weekends. Thank you , Jess

The road construction should be completed near the end of October. As I mentioned above, it is just a short stretch of road that is gravel; you can carry your bike over and continue to the summit. The Summit Road is open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Enjoy!
