October - Mountain Update
It's hard to believe summer is over. The air is cooler, the days are a bit shorter, and it feels as if the first snow could fall any time. With the change of the seasons, our team is buzzing with anticipation—winter is almost here. Soon we will be opening for the 2020/21 winter season and inviting our Mt. Spokane family back to the slopes.
At Mt. Spokane, we have been working throughout the summer to create protocols to ensure the health and safety of our community. We've had to rethink every process on the mountain—from concessions to lift lines. Following state regulations, face coverings will be required, as well as distancing protocols. There may be a few changes mountain-wide that we all need to adhere to—but the experience will make it all worth it.
Although 2020 has been an uphill challenge, we are grateful for the upcoming season. We have a motivated team, a dedicated mountain family of skiers and snowboarders, plenty of wide-open spaces with recently increased ski terrain (that is perfect for social distancing), and newly expanded hours. Plus, a rumored La Nina winter that could bring a season of fantastic snow has us all feeling extra enthusiastic.

Mt. Spokane's mission is more important than ever. With fewer options for entertainment for families and individuals, we are dedicated to providing a safe place for people to hit the slopes and create a lifetime of memories.
Thank you for your patience as we iron out all the details for this upcoming ski season. Soon, we will be posting comprehensive COVID protocols on our website as well as all-new lessons and programs—all adhering to safety standards.
So, in the meantime, get your gear waxed and ready. It's going to be an amazing winter on the mountain.
See you soon,
Jim van Löben Sels
