DEPARTMENTS

MOUNTAIN OPERATIONS: Hours depend on snow conditions

Mountain Operations is accountable for operating and maintaining the outside services of our ski resort. Mt Operations include: Base Operations, Grooming, Lift Maintenance, Terrain Park Attendant, Lift Attendant, Ticket Checker, Facilities Maintenance, Tubing Hill Attendant, and Ski Check Attendant. These jobs are worked in extreme weather conditions including at times: bright sun, heavy snow storms, and thick fog with very low visibility, rain, freezing rain, winds, slushy conditions, muddy conditions. The environment can and does change very quickly. The employees in this department must be physically able to shovel snow, and lift up to 60 lbs repetitively.  The jobs in this department are both exciting and fun at times and very serene at times. Must be able to pass background check and drug test. Those who operate Mt. Spokane Ski & Snowboard Park cars or equipment must have a current valid drivers’ license and proof of current automobile insurance. Copy of driving record must also be provided. Up to 56 hours per week. Over time paid starting at 57 hours worked in a single week.
 

GUEST SERVICES: Hours depend on snow conditions

Most are inside positions. Guest Service areas include: Snow Sports Center, Ticket Counter, Rentals, Day Care. Employees who work in these departments must be able to handle extremely busy times selling high volume of goods and services to many guests quickly and efficiently. Accurate cash handling skills required, aptitude for mathematics and ability to remain calm under pressure are skills vital to the success of these positions. Those working in these positions will be expected to up-sell goods and services offered throughout the resort. Must be able to pass background check and drug test. Up to 56 hours per week. Over time paid starting at 57 hours worked in a single week.

 

FOOD & BEVERAGE: Hours depend on snow conditions

Locations include Lodge 1 Snack Bar, Vista House, Lodge 2 Cafeteria, and Lodge 2 Foggy Bottom Lounge. Employees who work in Food & Beverage must be able to handle extremely busy times preparing and selling high volume of goods and services to many guests quickly and efficiently. Those who work in this department must have the ability to remain calm under pressure and be motivated to discern, seek out, and take care of tasks as they need to be done in an efficient and mature manner. Those working in these positions will be expected to up-sell goods and services offered throughout the resort. Must be able to pass background check and drug test.  Day and Night shifts available. Up to 56 hours per week. Over time paid starting at 57 hours worked in a single week.

 

JOB POSITIONS

Base Crew:  Keep walkways clear of snow and ice for safety of guests and fellow employees. Assist in parking lot.  High guest contact, this team provides essential helpful, first-rate Guest Service.  Must be able to pass background check and drug test.

Shuttle Bus Driver: Shuttle guests between parking lots and lodges.  As the first point of contact with many of our guests, welcome them with first-class Guest Service. Must have clean driving record, be currently insured, and have a current valid drivers’ license and proof of current automobile insurance. CDL not required but encouraged. Must be able to pass background check and drug test.

Lift Attendant, Day & Night Shifts:  Must be at least 18 years of age at time of applying. Assist guests safely on and off of chairs. Maintain safe loading ramps. These team members provide welcoming, friendly, fabulous guest service. Must be able to pass background check and drug test.

Tubing Hill Attendant: Must be at least 18 years of age at time of applying. Assist in safe operations of tubing hill. Welcome the families in our community and visiting families with friendly, energetic, first-rate guest service. Must be able to pass background check and drug test.

Terrain Park Attendant: Must be at least 18 years of age at time of applying. Maintain park features, assuring our guests are properly supervised and have safety awareness education and use Freestyle Terrain etiquette.  This team delivers energetic, safe, marvelous guest service. Must be able to pass background check and drug test.

Groomers:  THIS IS A NIGHT POSITION. Keeping safety a priority, provide the best possible snow surfaces to our guests using our fleet of Prinoth Snowcats. Must have clean driving record, be currently insured, and have a current valid drivers’ license and proof of current automobile insurance. Accepting applications only from those with prior experience.  Must be able to pass background check and drug test.

Rental Technician: Responsible for rental equipment upkeep and adjustments. Ability to efficiently fit boots and set bindings by cheerfully and professionally communicating with the guests. Knowledge of ski & snowboard gear essential, as well as waxing, tuning, and sharpening. Provide fast, friendly, service to guests with information and assistance by answering questions, giving directions. Must be able to pass background check and drug test.

Rental Retail Agent: Sell Rental and Retail items using cash controls in a prompt and courteous manner. Provide guests with information and assistance by answering questions, giving directions and participating in complaint resolution. This team is integral to assuring guest satisfaction with cheerful welcoming and outstanding service. Must be able to pass background check and drug test.

Ticket Counter Agent: Sell lift tickets using cash controls in a prompt and courteous manner. Provide guests with information and assistance by answering questions, giving directions and participating in complaint resolution.  Welcome our guests with fast, efficient & fabulous service. Must be able to pass background check and drug test.

Ticket Checker: Responsible for assuring that all guests have a valid ticket or current season pass. Guest service skills are vital as you welcome and greet guests. Outside 100% of time. Must be able to pass background check and drug test.

Snow Sports Center Agent: Sell Season Passes, Lift Tickets, and Snow Sports Lessons using cash controls in a prompt and courteous manner. Provide guests with information and assistance by answering questions, giving directions and participating in complaint resolution. These team members provide mature, cheerful, knowledgeable and superb guest service. Must be able to pass background check and drug test.

Day Care Attendant: Responsible for the health, safety and comfort of children while in the Mt. Spokane Day Care. Provide guests with information and assistance by answering questions, giving directions. Must be able to pass background check and drug test.

Ski / Snowboard Instructor: Teach adult and children in private and group lessons. Must be able to pass background check and drug test.

Line/Prep Cook: Responsible for the overall preparation and presentation of food including breakfast, lunch & dinner menu. Competent, well-organized, safe production of all menu items using inventory controls and policies at all times. Must have current Washington State Food Service Permit. Must be able to pass background check and drug test.

Cafeteria Cashier: Primary responsibility is for the sale of food and beverage using cash controls in a prompt and courteous manner. Provide guests with information and assistance by answering questions, giving directions for the mountain. These team members provide friendly efficient, knowledgeable and marvelous guest service. Must be able to pass background check and drug test.

Bus Person: Primary responsibility is the cleanliness and stocking of the food and beverage areas, including the FOH and BOH in a prompt and courteous manner. Provide guests with information and assistance by answering questions, giving directions for the mountain. These team members provide cheerful, efficient quality guest service. Must be able to pass background check and drug test.

Bartender:  Must be at least 21 years of age at time of applying. Primary responsibility is for the sale of beer, food, and beverages using cash controls in a prompt and courteous manner. Provide guests with information and assistance by answering questions, giving directions for the mountain. Must have current Washington State Food Service Permit and current Washington State Liquor Control Board permit. Must be able to pass background check and drug test.
