Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. ❄️ It’s snowing! Winter is finally starting to appear, and with a full week of flakes in the forecast, we’re inching closer to announcing our official opening date. Keep those snow dances going—whatever you did worked, so don’t stop now! If everything keeps lining up, we’re eyeing Saturday, December 13 for Opening Day. As this storm cycle rolls through, we’re in full base-building mode. Right now we’ve got about 12 inches at the summit and 8 inches at the base. We’re aiming for that magic 24 inches to safely cover early-season obstacles. From harvesting snow in the parking lot to making snow in the learning area, we’re doing everything we can to get the terrain ready. Once the snow stacks up a bit more, our grooming crew will begin the arduous process of track-packing every run wall-to-wall. This can take up to a full week of cat time, but it’s how we build the deep, durable base needed for a long, smooth season. We’re excited, the mountain is waking up, and winter is finally rolling in. Call for volunteers! 2025 Brushcutting Crew 🌿   Ski season is less than five months away, and getting the mountain ready takes a group effort! Each year, the skiers and snowboarders at Mt. Spokane reap the benefits of the hard work put in by our volunteer brushcutters.    We’re looking for 30 dedicated volunteers to help us brushcut over two weekends: September 6–7 and September 13–14. To join the crew, you must be available BOTH weekends and complete 40 total hours of work.    This is a highly coveted volunteer position, and we require all applicants to compete in a lottery process. Volunteers who commit to 40 hours of brushcutting will earn a 25-26 Winter Season Pass! We’ve got the tools. You bring the muscle.   Requirements: • 18 Years & Older • Hiking/Working Boots/Proper work clothing • Capable of physical labor for (4) 10-hr shifts • Must be available BOTH scheduled weekends. • Dependable, great attitude, and willing to work hard.   Crew Selection Process: • We will only take (30) volunteers. • Volunteers must follow the lottery process. • Volunteer lottery opens at midnight (12am), August 1. • Set your alarm for midnight and be the first to sign-up. Spots fill up within minutes of midnight. The link (in bio) will be live at midnight. • We will only accept 30 registrations. The first 30 registered will be granted space on the brushcutting crew.   During the first week of August, after registering, you will be notified with details.
